Metodología del examen del complejo bucal para estudiantes de Estomatología

Resumen

Actualmente, el cáncer bucal constituye uno de los mayores problemas que enfrenta la humanidad, no sólo en el ámbito de la salud pública sino también para las ciencias en general. Algunos tipos de cánceres se consideran enfermedades prevenibles en virtud de que muchos de los factores relacionados con el estilo de vida de las personas se han asociado a su incidencia. El estomatólogo desempeña un papel fundamental en el diagnóstico oportuno y la prevención de esta afección pues su tarea es detectar cualquier lesión en estado incipiente y así simplificar el tratamiento y mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente; pero mucho más importante que detectar la lesión es prever su desarrollo orientando a la población y eliminando los factores de riesgo. En este sentido, es necesario dotar el estudiante de estomatología de una metodología que le permita diagnosticar precozmente esta enfermedad con vistas a disminuir sus efectos nocivos para la salud.

ABSTRACT

At the moment, the buccal cancer constitutes one of the biggest problems that the humanity faces, not only in the environment of the public health but also for the sciences in general. Some types of cancers are considered prevent illnesses by virtue of that many of the factors related with the lifestyle of people have associated to their incidence. Dentistry plays a fundamental part in the opportune diagnosis and the prevention of this since affection its task it is to detect any lesion in incipient state and this way to simplify the treatment and to improve the quality of the patient's life; but much more important that to detect the lesion is to foresee its development guiding the population and eliminating the factors of risk. In this sense, it is necessary to endow the dentistry student of a methodology that allows him to diagnose this illness precociously with a view to diminishing their noxious effects for the health.
